FAQ

How would you describe your style of photography?

I would describe my style as being bright, romantic, and soft. I love the bokeh effect and shoot wide-open to get it. When I edit it is generally to bring out the best of my clients. I do not do heavy photoshopping. I love candid moments but will also do some posing, though clients are welcome to be themselves during the session if that is their preference!

Do you shoot weddings?

I have many years of shooting weddings under my belt. I have acquired the skill, technique, and equipment for weddings. However, I am now focusing my business primarily on families, couples, maternity and dancers. If you are interested in an elopement or micro-wedding, please reach out for more information and a quote!

Do you provide advice or help for what to wear?

I can help you find what style clothing will be best for you. My Sapphire and Diamond packages both come with a client guide for even more detail!

Can I extend the session on the day of?

If the session needs to be extended for any reason, I will generally be flexible. There is a $200 fee for 30 additional minutes and $350 for an additional hour.

What kind of gear do you use?

I am a Canon girl. I use primarily my 2 camera body (Mark iii & Mark iv) but have a backup Mark iii. The lenses that come out of my bag most often are the 35mm, 85mm, and 50mm.

Do I have to order prints through you?

No! If you purchase high resolution images then you will not have to order through me. This is one of the reasons for the high cost of digital photography. You will be able to purchase or print for the rest of your life these high quality digital images of this special time of your life! Of course, if you would like professional quality prints you can absolutely order directly through your gallery.

How long does it take you to deliver the photos?

The process of editing and delivering a gallery for a 1-2 hour shoot can take 2-3 weeks. There is a sneak peek delivered or posted within the first 48 hours of your session for the Sapphire & Diamond package.

Does it cost more for a large family session?

Short answer is: yes. Each additional family beyond a single nuclear family will incur more images to be culled, edited and delivered. It is also generally going to take more time to work with the families and more effort to coordinate. Luckily, the costs don't rise significantly but they are higher. Please reach out to me for a quote on large family sessions.

Should I get my makeup and hair done?

If this is something that is within your means, I highly recommend it! It is not a necessity but can really help you feel your best and highlight your best features! If you cannot, then I recommend doing your own makeup, curling your hair, and having neutral nail polish on.

I love your work, but I am not sure we can afford it. Do you offer payment plans or discounts?

I know that money can be stressful at times. There is a 10% discount for teachers, military, and healthcare workers. If you are still afraid of the cost, there is also the option of payment plans. If you are planning far in advance we can make it an arrangement of smaller amounts spread out over a period of time! Please just keep in mind that images will not be downloadable until the full amount has been paid.

How long have you been shooting?

I started my business in 2016. I have been lucky enough to photograph beautiful locations, couples and families all over South Carolina, Georgia, Texas and North Carolina.

I see some of your sessions have been done in a studio. Can we book you for a studio session?

A studio session would be an option for an additional fee as I would need to temporarily rent a space.

Why is your photography so expensive? I see lots of other photographers that are less expensive and their work seems ok to me.

This is a really important subject and one that I am happy to discuss. For those that are uncertain of the cost it can seem daunting looking at the prices of the Sapphire and Diamond packages, as well as the a la carte items. We live in a time where being transparent with finances is less taboo. We all understand the cost of living can be high. It is easy to believe that when we see how much something costs that the amount being charged is just being pocketed by the business owner. The reality is, this is a business, not a hobby. There are countless expenses that go into maintaining this business and improving the quality of my work. It would not be sustainable if I were to charge a rate less than what I am charging. The time driving to and from the job, working behind the camera, the time editing, the costs of business, all of these things would make my hourly wage less than desirable, or for lack of a better word, unsustainable. With this being a legitimate business, you can go into your session with the confidence of working with a tax paying, insurance covered business. The one thing I can offer you, that no other photographer can, is me. My experience, my lens, my view of the world and my subjects. All that being said, my business is a small business and every dollar is so appreciated.
